About Qatar University
Qatar University began in 1973 as a College of Education created by Emiri decree with an initial intake of about 150 students, and was expanded in 1977 into a full university with four colleges: Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sharia, Law and Islamic Studies, and Science. It sits on the northern edge of Doha and is the country's national public university. Today it comprises twelve colleges, including Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, Nursing, Engineering, Law and Sport Science, and teaches in both Arabic and English.
