About Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University

Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) is a public Saudi university in Riyadh. It traces its origins to the College of Sharia founded in 1373 AH / 1953 CE, and was converted into a full university under its present name in 1974. It comprises 14 colleges, 3 higher institutes and 70 scientific institutes inside the Kingdom plus five institutes abroad in Indonesia and Djibouti. Alongside its historic strength in Sharia and Arabic studies it offers medicine, engineering, computer science, economics, media and languages. It placed third among Saudi universities and first among Riyadh universities in the Times Higher Education 2024 ranking.
