About American University of Bahrain
The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) is a private university that opened in September 2019 in Riffa, and is the first university in Bahrain purpose-built around the American educational model, backed by Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company. It runs three colleges covering business and management, engineering, and media and design, awarding undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields such as data science and multimedia design. Licensed by Bahrain's Higher Education Council, it earned full WASC accreditation in March 2023 following an eligibility review in 2021. Enrolment was 992 students in Fall 2024, and the university maintains partnerships with California State University, Northridge and Bahrain's National Space Science Agency.
