Traffic fines: checking, paying and objecting
Checking and paying traffic fines is done electronically through Absher or the Tamm platform, with payment via SADAD. Unpaid fines block istimara renewal and block ownership transfers, so clear them before any other procedure.
Fine amounts are set by the official traffic-law schedules and change by official decision, so we do not list amounts here — consult the official schedule via the Ministry of Interior. One rule buyers ask about constantly: window tint is allowed up to 30% on side and rear glass, and windshield tint is prohibited.
Steps
- Check your fines in Absher: My Services > Traffic > Traffic Violations Inquiry (or via the Tamm platform).
- Open each violation's details: type, location, date and the officially recorded amount.
- If you believe a fine is wrong: file an electronic objection from the same service within the legal objection window, before paying.
- Pay due fines through SADAD from your banking app.
- Confirm your record is clear before renewing the istimara or selling the car — unpaid fines block both.
- Before buying a used car: check its recorded violations, because the transfer cannot complete with unpaid fines.
