Nissan has confirmed that a plug-in hybrid version of its Navara pickup, badged the Navara Pro PHEV, will launch in Australia in 2027. The announcement pairs the model with a combined output of 300kW and 800Nm, figures that place it well beyond what conventional diesel midsize utes typically deliver. According to the brief, the truck was developed following an extensive localisation programme, and Nissan has made clear it intends to take the fight directly to the BYD Shark 6.
That positions the Navara Pro PHEV in one of the newest and most interesting corners of the pickup market.
