Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the updated 2027 Maybach GLS, months after refreshing the standard version of the large SUV. This ultra-luxury variant arrives with a more commanding exterior design, an interior that raises the standards of luxury, and a new V8 engine that provides more power than its predecessor. The vehicle is expected to reach global markets soon.
The Maybach GLS sits at the pinnacle of the full-size luxury SUV segment, competing with models such as the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan, as well as the Range Rover SV in certain specifications. For Saudi buyers, this vehicle represents a choice that combines social status with powerful performance, especially given the local market's preference for eight-cylinder engines and luxury marques.
Among the most notable exterior modifications are the wider radiator grille with additional horizontal chrome slats and updated headlights that give the car a more imposing character. Inside, Mercedes has increased the use of premium leather and natural wood, with extensive customization options including reclining individual rear seats and an integrated entertainment system, elevating the riding experience to a level closer to that of a business jet.
Under the hood, the Maybach GLS receives a new V8 engine with the same displacement as the previous one, but with modifications to the turbocharging and injection systems, producing more power for smoother acceleration and stronger performance. The vehicle remains equipped with an adaptive air suspension system and permanent all-wheel drive, with special tuning for maximum comfort on long journeys.
Buyers in Saudi Arabia should note that this version requires pre-ordering through authorized dealers, as production is limited.
