Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University is a public women's university in Riyadh, described as the largest women's university in the world. Its origins date to 1970, under King Faisal bin Abdulaziz; it was granted university status in 2008 under King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and named after Noura bint Abdulrahman Al Saud, sister and adviser to King Abdulaziz. The campus spans roughly eight million square metres and houses health, science, engineering and humanities colleges alongside a College of Languages and an Applied College.
