About American University of Kuwait (AUK)
The American University of Kuwait is a private liberal-arts institution in Salmiya, on Salem Al-Mubarak Street, created by Amiri Decree 139 of 2003 and admitting its first students in 2004 under a licence from Kuwait's Private Universities Council. It follows an American educational model and is organized into three colleges: Arts & Sciences; Business and Economics, founded in 2011 and AACSB-accredited since 2019; and Engineering and Applied Sciences. AUK was established in academic affiliation with Dartmouth College and has produced more than 6,000 graduates.
