About Abdullah Al-Salem University
Abdullah Al-Salem University is a Kuwaiti public university created by Law No. 76 of 2019, issued on 4 August 2019, and named after Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the eleventh Emir of Kuwait. The founding law transferred land, buildings and facilities to it from Kuwait University, and its campus stands in the Al-Khaldiya district of Kuwait City. The decree forming its founding board of trustees was published in the official gazette in September 2021; the university admitted its first student cohort in the 2023/2024 academic year and was formally inaugurated on 6 March 2024. It is organised into five colleges: Computer Engineering and Systems, Engineering and Energy, Business Administration and Entrepreneurship, Medicine and Health Sciences, and Integrative Studies.
