About Arab Open University

The Arab Open University is a non-profit higher-education system founded in December 2000 by Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with its central office in Kuwait. Saudi Arabia was among its six original branches, and teaching there began in the autumn of the 2002-2003 academic year. The Saudi branch operates across six cities - Riyadh (its Saudi headquarters), Jeddah, Dammam, Medina, Hail and Al-Ahsa. AOU follows an open and blended learning model under a long-standing academic partnership with the UK's Open University, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in business administration, information technology and computing, English language and literature, education, law, media, and graphic design and multimedia.
