About Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University is a Dubai-based university established in 2002 and recognised as the first smart university in the United Arab Emirates; it was previously called Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University. It set the benchmarks later used for e-learning accreditation in the UAE and teaches through a blended model combining online classes, face-to-face sessions and self-paced study, organised across three academic schools alongside professional certifications in management, banking, healthcare and education. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum serves as its president. Milestones include launching an online executive MBA in Islamic banking and finance in 2014 and its Smart Campus platform winning a 2015 Wharton-QS Reimagine Education award.
