Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Smart Shopper ("we", "the app"), operated by Beseyat, collects, uses, shares and protects your information across our app and website (beseyat.com/deals). By using Smart Shopper you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
• Account data you provide: name, email address and/or mobile number (you sign up with a phone one-time code or email — social login is not used).
• Content you create: favorites, price alerts, shopping lists, reviews, comments and any receipt photos you choose to scan.
• Usage data: searches, taps, deals and products you view, and general app activity, used to improve and personalize the service.
• Device & technical data: device model, operating system, app version, language, IP address, and a mobile advertising identifier (used for ads — see below).
• Approximate location (optional): only if you enable "Nearby offers", to show stores near you. You can decline or revoke it anytime in your device settings.
• Notification token: to send you price alerts and updates.
How we use your information
To run and personalize the service (comparison, alerts, "Picked for you"), respond to your requests, send notifications you opt into, keep the service secure and prevent abuse, analyze and improve the app, and show advertising.
Advertising
The app may display ads served by Google AdMob and its partners. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising identifier and certain data to serve and measure ads, including personalized (interest-based) ads. Google's use of data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and in the AdMob policies. You can control or reset your advertising identifier and opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads). On iOS we ask for your permission via App Tracking Transparency before using your identifier for personalized ads, and where required we request your consent. If you decline, you will still see ads, but non-personalized ones.
AI features
When you use the smart assistant, natural-language search, or scan a receipt, the text or image is sent to our AI providers (such as Google Gemini, DeepSeek and Zhipu GLM) solely to generate your result. We do not send them your identity, and we do not use your content to train third-party models beyond producing the response.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data only with service providers who help us operate: Google (AdMob advertising, Firebase notifications, analytics), our SMS provider (Authentica, for one-time codes), our AI providers (above), and our hosting provider. Each processes data only to provide its service. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal data as described below; some anonymized or aggregated data, and records we must keep by law, may be retained for the minimum necessary period.
Your rights & choices
You can access and update your profile in the app, opt out of personalized ads (device settings), manage notification permissions, and delete your account and data at any time. Depending on your region you may also have rights under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and, where applicable, the GDPR — including access, correction, deletion, objection and withdrawing consent. To exercise these, use the in-app options or contact us.
Deleting your account & data
Delete your account in the app via My Account → Delete account. This removes your personal data (name, email, phone, photo, favorites, alerts, lists and receipts) and revokes your sessions. You can also request deletion without the app — see our Account & Data Deletion page for full steps and details of what is removed or kept.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
International transfers
Some providers (e.g. Google) may process data on servers outside Saudi Arabia. Where we transfer data internationally we take steps to ensure appropriate protection.
Children
Smart Shopper is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us to remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
