Ford wants to sell 100,000 Fathoms in the $30k EV truck’s first year

Ford is targeting 100,000 sales of its new Fathom electric truck within its first year. With a starting price around $30,000, the company expects it to become America's top-selling EV outside Tesla.

Ford has set an ambitious target for its upcoming all-electric Fathom pickup, aiming to move 100,000 units in its first year on sale. If achieved, that volume would instantly rank the truck among the best-selling EVs in the United States and mark it as the country’s most successful non-Tesla electric vehicle. The headline figure reflects a clear strategy: rather than competing as a halo product, Ford sees the Fathom as a mainstream, high-volume proposition.

For Saudi buyers, the Fathom signals an interesting shift in the electric pickup segment, which is still taking shape locally. The most obvious rivals sold in the Kingdom today are premium offerings such as the Tesla Cybertruck and the Rivian R1T, both of which command significantly higher price points. General Motors has also signaled plans to bring its electric Silverado and Sierra trucks to the region.
