Ford’s Mustang Might Leave You Grounded Because Its Wiring Isn’t

Ford has flagged a wiring defect in nearly 149,000 Mustangs that could suddenly cut engine power and disable lights, washers, and air conditioning. Owners should watch for the fix to avoid being stranded. No price impact was announced.

Ford has announced a recall affecting nearly 149,000 Mustang units worldwide, and the issue strikes at the heart of the pony car’s reliability. The problem stems from a faulty wiring harness that can lead to a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Beyond the engine, the same electrical fault can knock out essential systems such as headlights, windshield washers, and air conditioning, leaving drivers stranded in more ways than one.

The defect appears to be related to intermittent electrical connectivity, meaning the car might cut out without warning and fail to restart. For a vehicle known for its performance and drama, this kind of unpredictable behavior is the last thing owners want to encounter on the road. Ford has not disclosed how many cars in the Middle East are affected, but local dealerships are expected to follow the recall directive and inspect wiring harnesses on eligible vehicles, replacing any faulty components free of charge.
