Peugeot's striking E-16 concept, a rally-flavoured electric machine built around a tri-motor layout and quoted at 805 horsepower, may not stay a show stand curiosity. According to the brief, the French brand is leaving the door open to putting a version of the car into the hands of ordinary customers rather than keeping it locked away as a design study — an unusual move for a concept with such extreme numbers.
That matters because concepts rarely survive contact with production reality intact. Styling gets softened, powertrains get detuned and cost targets trim the ambition. The suggestion here is that Peugeot sees real market potential in a high-output electric performance model, and is willing to carry at least part of the concept's character through to something road-legal.
For Saudi buyers, the E-16 would sit far above anything Peugeot currently offers locally, where the range is built around practical crossovers and family cars. A tri-motor, rally-inspired flagship would function as a halo product — a statement piece that draws people into showrooms rather than a volume seller.
Its natural rivals would be the growing club of fast electric cars already available in the Kingdom: performance versions of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, Hyundai's Ioniq 5 N, Kia's EV6 GT and, further up the ladder, electric performance models from the German premium brands. Peugeot would be competing on character and motorsport flavour as much as raw output.
Shoppers should watch for the details that rarely make the headline. Final power figures, battery size and real-world range, whether the tri-motor setup arrives at all, and how the cooling system copes with Saudi summer heat all matter more than a concept's peak number. Local availability, warranty terms, servicing through the existing Peugeot
