BYD has confirmed that an upgraded version of its popular Atto 3 electric SUV will launch in Australia later this year, and the update is significant enough to earn the “Evo” name. While the announcement targets the Australian market, it signals a major refresh for a model that is also sold in Saudi Arabia under the same name. The Evo variant rides on a new platform, which brings more power, a longer driving range, and increased cargo space compared with the current Atto 3.

For Saudi buyers, the Atto 3 already competes in the compact electric SUV segment, where it goes up against models such as the MG ZS EV, GAC Aion Y Plus, and even the entry-level Tesla Model Y. The updated Evo version should strengthen its position by closing the gap on range and practicality.
