Fat Fender Garage announced the completion of its project on a 1956 Ford F-100, after more than 15,000 hours of work, with the classic pickup emerging with output reaching around 800 horsepower. The project, named GT/FX, was not a traditional restoration returning the truck to its original condition, but a deliberate attempt to give it a supercar personality beneath classic styling, drawing inspiration from the spirit of the Ford GT.
The core idea here is that the team treated the truck as an integrated design work, not merely a shell whose engine was replaced with a more powerful one. The structure, exterior details and interior were all reimagined to serve a single idea: that the F-100 should look like a rare sports model from the 1950s, not an ordinary truck fitted with a massive engine. This type of project consumes enormous time in design, hand fabrication and testing, which explains the large number of work hours.
In the Saudi market, this type belongs to the classic restomod category, which finds an audience among fans of old American pickups. The natural competitors in this field are other classic trucks from the same era, such as the Chevrolet C10 and Dodge D100, in addition to similar projects carried out by local and regional workshops. As for those seeking similar power with an official warranty and approval, they usually turn to a modern performance pickup such as the Ford F-150 Raptor or the Ram TRX.
