About Al Zahra College for Women
Al-Zahra College for Women is a private women-only college in Airport Heights, Muscat. It was created by ministerial decision No. 99/388 and began operating in 1999 under the supervision of Oman's Ministry of Higher Education, making it the first private college in the Sultanate dedicated to female students. It opened the 1999/2000 academic year with 50 students on two-year diploma programmes and was authorised to award bachelor's degrees in 2004. Its departments cover the general foundation programme, design, modern languages, information technology, managerial and financial sciences and law, alongside postgraduate study, and it maintains academic affiliations with Al-Ahliyya Amman University (Jordan) and the University of Sunderland (UK).
