About German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech)
The German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) is a private university established in 2007 in partnership with RWTH Aachen University in Germany, following an agreement signed in December 2006 and ministerial approval in March 2007. It opened in September 2007 in rented premises in Athaibah with 60 students, moved in 2010 to a campus near Muscat International Airport, and in September 2012 to its permanent 500,000-square-metre campus in Halban — the first green campus built in Oman. Teaching is in English and the curricula are developed with its German partner university. Enrolment exceeded 2,400 students in the 2021/22 academic year.
