About Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET)

The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) is a Kuwaiti government body created by Amiri decree in 1982, headquartered in the Shuwaikh educational district of Kuwait City and built on vocational schools dating back to the 1950s. A 1986 restructuring produced its present shape of five colleges: Basic Education, Commercial Studies, Technological Studies, Health Sciences, and Nursing. It also runs a network of training institutes, including the Higher Institute of Telecommunications and Navigation, the Higher Institute of Energy, the Higher Institute of Administrative Services, and several industrial institutes. Its stated mandate is to prepare Kuwaiti technical and professional manpower for the needs of the local labour market.
