About Applied Science University
Applied Science University is a private university in Bahrain, licensed by the Ministry of Education in 2004 and opened that September by the Bahraini academic Waheeb Al-Khaja; it was among the first private institutions in the country to teach in both Arabic and English. In 2013 it moved to its present campus at East Askar, south of Manama, a roughly 24,400-square-metre site designed for up to 6,300 students. It comprises the colleges of Administrative Sciences, Law, Arts and Sciences, and Engineering — the last founded in 2016 with London South Bank University — and it also maintains an academic partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University. Enrolment grew from 1,623 students in 2012 to 3,254 in 2019.
