About Arabian Gulf University
The Arabian Gulf University is a regional public university founded on 30 March 1980 in Manama, Bahrain. It is jointly governed and funded by the Gulf Cooperation Council states, accredited by Bahrain's Ministry of Education, and a member of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World. It comprises the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences and the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences, alongside a deanship of graduate studies and research, and is linked to King Abdullah Medical City. Its specialised research units include the Al Jawhara Centre for Molecular Medicine, the UNESCO-linked United Nations water education centre, a clinical research centre and a WHO collaborating centre. Admission is primarily restricted to GCC nationals, with other Arab nationals considered when places remain available.
