About British University in Dubai
The British University in Dubai is a private, non-profit, research-based university established on 19 May 2003 under Dubai Law No. 5 of 2003, on the initiative of Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, growing out of the Dubai–UK Trade and Economic Committee. Its founding backers included the Al Maktoum Foundation, Dubai Holding, Emirates NBD, the British Business Group and Rolls-Royce. The campus sits in Dubai International Academic City, and the university is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education with programmes accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation. It maintains academic partnerships with the Russell Group universities of Edinburgh, Manchester and Glasgow, offering bachelor's degrees in law, business and engineering alongside master's and doctoral programmes in education, business administration, project management, cybersecurity and computer science.
