That two-pronged approach is unusual in this corner of the market, where most competitors concentrate on four-door coupes and sedans and leave the practical fast wagon to a small niche of enthusiasts.
The model sits at the sharper end of Audi's compact executive range, the fully fledged performance variant built on the same foundations as the regular A5 family. Buyers in this segment are typically choosing between German rivals first and foremost, and in Saudi showrooms that means the RS5 will square off against the likes of BMW's M3 and M4, Mercedes-AMG's C-Class-based performance offering, and Alfa Romeo's Giulia Quadrifoglio.
